Gartside Apologises For Crowd Comments

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has apologised to the club's supporters following comments which he made after the Fulham game last weekend.

Gartside took a swipe at some of the club's fans on SKY television after only 16,000 turned up for the FA Cup game with the Cottagers last Saturday and whilst he accepts he could have handled the situation better he merely states that his comments where made to provoke a debate.

"I was asking the question rather than criticising people. People have taken this as a general criticism of our fans but that was definitely not the case. Maybe I worded it slightly wrong and I apologise if anybodyís taken offence but I wanted to provoke a debate to get some feed back."
