Inter Milan defender Jeremie Brechet is the latest name to be linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers after it was reported that the Trotters had made an enquiry over the availability of the French international.

The 24-year old only moved to the Italian giants last summer but feels he needs to move to regain his international place back and Wanderers are one of a number of clubs supposedly tracking his progress along with Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo and Bologna.

Newcastle United previously held an interest in the player during his days with French champions Lyon where he was a team mate of the current Bolton defender Florent Laville.

It is unclear as to whether or not Inter will allow the player to leave as Wanderers look to plug the gap left by Ricardo Gardner's long term absence. Sunderland's Michael Gray, Liverpool's Djimi Traore and Nice defender Philippe Leonard have all been touted as possible replacements for the Jamaican defender Gardner.
