Former Wanderers on the move

Former Bolton Wanderers players Andy Todd and Salva Ballesta have been loaned out by their respective clubs in a bid to get some first team football under their belts.

Defender Todd, 28, handed in a transfer request to Rovers manager Graeme Souness last month and despite interest from Premiership rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers he has moved across Lancashire to join up with Burnley who currently have Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly on loan from the Wanderers. The player who spent between 1995 and 1999 with the Trotters will join up with Stan Ternent's side for an initial one month loan period.

Former Spanish international Salva, who was on loan to Bolton towards the latter end of last season, has once again been loaned out by Valencia, this time to their La Liga rivals Malaga who will take the former Racing Santander striker for the season.

Meanwhile Robbie Elliott could also be leaving Newcastle United after the former Wanderers man spoke out over a proposed loan move to Nottingham Forest in which he said he would consider a move to Paul Hart's side should the Division 1 side make him an offer.
