Former Saints striker on trial

Davies is a free agent after being released by Saints boss Gordon Strachan at the end of last season and Allardyce will take a look at the former Blackburn hit-man for a week.

"Kevin will be with us for a week. Many other clubs have been chasing him and we are fortunate he has chosen us to train with.

"We will have a look at him and take things from there."
