Tofting, who is to appeal against a four-month jail sentence for an attack on a Copenhagen restaurant manager next month, told a Danish newspaper: "I am quite pleased because it is depressing having to be away from Denmark just to play on the training ground.

"It is generous of the manager to let me go home and I just want to get on with my life and football career back home."

Allardyce has, however, stressed that Tofting has not been released from his Bolton contract, which is due to end in the summer.
