The agent of former Bolton Wanderers star Youri Djorkaeff has admitted that there has been strong interest in his client from a number of Premiership clubs.

French based agent Willie McKay is currently speaking to four top flight teams in England, one of whom said to be North West rivals Everton, who have monitored the out of contract player for a large part of the summer and publicly stated their interest in the player earlier this month.

"I am speaking to three or four Premiership clubs about Youri," McKay said

"Obviously Youri is one the best players available at this time because he is out of contract and allowed to join a club outside the transfer window. He is determined to play in England after his success with Bolton."

World Cup winner Djorkaeff ended his succesful two and a half year association with Bolton in the summer after failing to agree on a new contract with the Trotters manager Sam Allardyce, with the Frenchman now likely to prolong his Premiership career elsewhere.
