French defender Bruno N'Gotty beleives that the current Bolton Wanderers team is ready for the challenge of European football next season

N'Gotty first arrived in England from Olympique Marseille in September 2001 and has seen the Trotters develop into a more stronger team as the seasons have passed.

"This is the best Bolton team I have played with in my years with the club. Every season we have become a little stronger.

"The biggest difference now from when I arrived is that instead of trying to avoid relegation we've got our sights on Europe".

"When I arrived at the club things were different from now. Some people who knew me were a little bit surprised that I chose to join Bolton. They were saying who? Where? They were a little bit puzzled. But I really wanted to play in the Premiership. I had played in France and Italy but I was keen to come to England and see what the Premiership was all about. For me, English club football is the best in the world.

Despite turning out to be one of the most consistent players in the Bolton team people had initially suggested that the former French international would struggle to cope with the style of football in England.

"Some people suggested I might struggle to cope with the style of football in England but I think I settled on okay. I am not surprised because I think the way football is played here suits me. It is quite physical and I enjoy that side of the game.

"The atmosphere within the club is very relaxed. There is a really good mix with good youngsters, experienced players and seven or eight different nationalities. It's a good atmosphere and a nice blend"
