End Of Season Awards Decided

Last updated : 26 April 2004 By Mark Heys
At Bolton Wanderers I think everyone at the club has to take credit for how we have performed this season.

Our acheivements have gone almost unnoticed by the national media as they look at more superlatives to throw at the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United but Big Sam and co can be proud of what they have acheived this season, not only were we written off before a ball was kicked along with the promoted teams a certain Rodney Marsh amongst others predicted Sam's luck would run out this season. We currently sit in 10th position in the Premiership having been in a major domestic cup final, our captain was shortlisted for the Player of the Year award and we also are on the verge of signing yet another well known face in the World of football. Here I take a look at who won what during last nights awards:

Unsurprisingly the invincible Thierry Henry of Arsenal scooped the Player of the Year award ahead of our very own Jay-Jay Okocha and five others whilst recent Chelsea recruit Scott Parker took the Young Player of the Year award following continued success since his big money move from Charlton Athletic.

Six of Arsenal's championship winning team made the team of the season whilst Chelsea and Manchester United had two players apiece named amongst the line up. Only Liverpool's Steven Gerrard who has been the best English midfielder alongside Chelsea's Frank Lampard is not in a club in the top three positions.

A full breakdown of the winners is listed below
