Djorkaeff Move To Fulham Hits Problems

Youri Djorkaeff will not be moving to Fulham for the time being after it was revealed that transfer talks with the ex-Wanderers star had broken down.

The veteran attacker rejected a new one year deal to stay with Bolton over the summer and was actively seeking a new club in England, with a number of top flight clubs keen on adding the World Cup winner to their team.

Everton and Fulham in particular had shown strong interest in recruiting the ex-Inter Milan ace and in the end it was the Cottagers who made an offer after seeing the player at close quarters in training.

However their manager Chris Coleman has since confirmed that the deal is far from complete.

"It's not a done deal. I was hoping it would have been done by the end of this week but at the minute it is far from being done so we'll wait and see, I was confident earlier in the week but these things sometimes take time and sometimes when you are not expecting something to happen, it does," Coleman said.

Meanwhile Emmanuel Petit could be in line for a move to Crystal Palace. The 33-year old was heavily linked to Bolton earlier this month following his release by Chelsea but the two parties could not agree terms on a deal prompting struggling Palace to step in and make their move.
