Diouf Regrets International Antics

Bolton Wanderers striker El-Hadji Diouf has told the Senegalese press association that he regrets not being able to take part in the international match with Liberia over the weekend.

Diouf was excluded from the World Cup qualifier after spending the night in a Dakar nightclub forcing national coach Guy Stephan to take disciplinary action on the forward who is currently on loan to Wanderers from Liverpool.

"I regret not being part of the travelling party. But as I always say a team does not depend on a single player." he said

Senegal went on to win the game 3-0 but whether the 23-year old will be forgiven for his antics remains to be seen after already disgracing himself during the African Nations Cup earlier this year.

The African attacker will return to the domestic scene this weekend as his club Bolton are to face Premiership strugglers Crystal Palace. So far no one at the Reebok Stadium has commented on the alleged happenings.
