Diouf May Be Rested

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he is contemplating on leaving the on-loan striker out of the squad for the trip to Fratton Park this weekend for fear of repercussions over the spitting incident between the Senegal international and Pompey defender Arjan De Zeeuw during the reverse fixture at The Reebok earlier this season.

''I have a decision to consider regarding Diouf,'' Allardyce has said.

''My thoughts are 'will the intimidation be so great that it causes a player to react in the wrong way?'

''I think if there is any threat whatsoever then I might have to make the decision where it is better that he did not play.

''I will come to it nearer the time. It is a consideration but we will just have to wait and see.''
