Former Liverpool misfit Bernard Diomede is being offered the chance to return to the Premiership with Bolton Wanderers, according to a report in today's Daily Mirror newspaper.

Ex-Liverpool winger Bernard Diomede is being linked to Bolton
The 30 year old winger appeared just twice for the Merseyside club in three years at Anfield before a switch to AC Ajaccio took him back to France at the start of last year.

It has now been suggested that Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce will offer the free agent a short term deal to cover for the temporary loss of Khalilou Fadiga who is still some weeks away from full fitness.

Diomede has won eight caps for France and was part of the "les bleus" squad which won the World Cup six years ago. He was also a prominent figure during the rise of La Championnat club Auxerre making over 150 appearances for them between 1992 and 2000 before a big money move to England.

Earlier on this season the player had a trial with Wanderers local rivals Manchester City but was not pursued by their manager Kevin Keegan despite making a reasonable impression.
