Davies Hopes Okocha Will Remain At Bolton
Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies has said that it will be a huge boost to everyone at the club if captain Jay-Jay Okocha agrees an extension to his current contract.

Davies 27, who himself agreed a new deal during the last week hopes that Okocha will follow suit in commiting himself to the club beyond the summer and compared the influence of the Nigerian in the Bolton team to that of former Southampton team mate Matthew Le Tissier.

"Everyone in the dressing room and all the fans will be delighted if he stays" Davies told bwfc.co.uk

"We all know what he is capable of doing and he is a great player for us. I can liken playing alongside him to when I was at Southampton with Matthew Le Tissier"

"Jay-Jay has done brilliant for us this season. He'd liked to have scored more goals especially in the Premiership. I'm sure he'll get one between now and the end of the season"

Commenting on his own situation the Sheffield-born striker revealed that he was delighted to have signed an extension to his contract but stressed the need to improve his goalscoring tally between now and the summer.

"It's nice to be rewarded for the work that i've put in this season. It's great to know that people have appreciated what I have done" he said.

"Whilst i've been happy with my overall contribution I would love a few more goals. Going into double figures would be a terrific acheivement for me"
