Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies has said that the team is in a confident mood ahead of the first of two Semi Final clashes with Aston Villa and the former Southampton player is hopeful he can erase the memory of being left out of Saints FA Cup Final squad in May and help Wanderers to their first final in eight years.

Davies 26, scored the winner against Portsmouth at the weekend and stated that the Bolton dressing room has been lifted by that performance and the players are talking about getting into a cup final and possibly into Europe but first they must overcome a Villa side who have come on leaps and bounds under David O'Leary and are proving very hard to beat especially at Villa Park.

"Speaking to the lads, we are all thinking about getting into a cup final and then into Europe and it would be great if we could that. This is going to be one of the biggest games of my career and I'm really looking forward to it. Not many players get a chance to play in a cup final during a career. I have been to one and not played so, hopefully, I can put that right this time" Davies told the Manchester Evening News
