Bolton Wanderers are looking to strengthen their defensive options, and are said to be ready to offer 29-year old Czech Republic international defender Rene Bolf a trial at the Reebok Stadium.

Reports have suggested that the Banik Ostrava player is going to be put through his paces in a week long trial with the Lancashire outfit next week as the Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce steps up his search for new recruits to add to his squad before the start of the season.

Former Sparta Prague player Bolf is very experienced having made over 150 appearances in his homeland and is the hoping to be the latest player to join the club on trial following the recent arrivals of other trialists ex-Southampton striker Kevin Davies and Polish international Tomasz Klos, the latter since having returned home.
