Crouch Disappointed Not To Win

Giant striker Peter Crouch felt that Southampton piled on enough pressure in the closing stages of last night's clash with Bolton to go on and win the game.

The former Aston Villa and Portsmouth forward Crouch scored in the 85th minute during the 2-1 defeat to the Trotters which proved to be a mere consolation for the South Coast club who are still in turmoil following the departure of manager Paul Sturrock during the week.

"Maybe ten more minutes we could have turned the game around, We could maybe have gone on and won. It came a little bit too late." he said

Despite Wanderers finishing higher than the Saints last year and reaching a cup final the 6ft 5" striker arrogantly beleives that a club such as Southampton should be coming out on top in such contests.

"Bolton work hard together, it is disappointing because Southampton should be beating teams like Bolton at home.
