Bolton Wanderers today have been linked with a possible move for Ivory Coast defender Saliou Lassissi, a player who has been linked to the club on numerous occasions in the past year.

The 24-year old former Parma and Fiorentina stopper had his contract cancelled at the end of last season by AS Roma following a number of injury and disciplinary problems and is looking to be fixed up with a new team for the new season.

During his time in Rome he was known to refuse treatment for injuries on the ground of religious beleifs and also had many conflicts with the technical staff regarding matters outside of football including black magic and witchcraft. However many have suggested his footballing ability is without question, some compare him to Marcel Desailly and he could be an asset to a club.

He has been linked to a whole host of clubs in Britain including Glasgow Rangers, Birmingham City, Portsmouth and Manchester City but none of them have followed up interest from last year. It is thought the player could be targeted by Sam Allardyce should a move for Sunderland's Emerson Thome fail to materialise.
