The 19-year old centre half made four appearances in all during his time with the Chairboys often finding himself playing in the unfamiliar position of left back.
Wycombe manager Tony Adams feels that the young Mancunian will be a star of the future but says his time with the South East outfit may have come too soon.
"I think it was a year too soon for Charlie. He's a good left-sided centre-half of the future. It was perhaps a little unfair to stick him out at left-back but that's where we're struggling at the moment." he said
