Coach Urges Defenders To Tighten Up

Bolton Wanderers assistant manager Phil Brown has said that the clubs defenders must concentrate on keeping clean sheets over the forthcoming matches if the team are to get out of what has become a barren run which has seen them without a win since the end of January.

Brown, himself a former defender, feels that the Wanderers back line has lost their mentality in recent weeks as far as keeping clean sheets go and says that they must rectify that as soon as possible to enable them to get back to winning ways.

“The only concern I have is the clean sheet mentality, We’ve lost it and need to get back to it as soon as we can. That’s the only thing that concerns me. We have creativity and a potential strike force, as we have shown in the Chelsea and Arsenal matches" Brown said

The Bolton No2 says that the only way to get back to winning ways is to keep the goals against column down to zero something which has recently preturbed the Wanderers coaching staff.

“Unless we get back to clean sheets, we have no chances of winning games of football. If we’ve no chance of winning then I am worried.”
