Bolton Wanderers have made an official statement regarding the Carling Cup ticket fiasco and have outlined their plans for the future should a similar situation occur.

"Bolton Wanderers Football Club has confirmed that less than 900 postal applications, received before the due date, remain unfulfilled.

"The Club is continuing to try a number of sources with a view to obtaining additional tickets. Supporters who have applied for tickets will be contacted should the Club be in a position, following receipt of any additional tickets, to fulfil their ticket application.

"The Club today has also written to unsuccessful applicants informing them of the situation and explaining the Club’s rationale for adopting their 'two tickets per season ticket holders and member policy'.

"The Club would, once again, like to offer its sincere apologies to any Season Ticket Holder whose application ultimately proves unsuccessful.

"The Club has also taken this opportunity to reiterate, that at all future matches, where the Club receives an allocation of tickets, the Club will guarantee each season ticket holder the opportunity to purchase a ticket during the priority sales period - providing the received ticket allocation exceeds the number of season ticket holders."
