Celtic Defender Linked With Trotters Switch

Bolton Wanderers are being linked with a move for Glasgow Celtic defender Johan Mjallby and could make a move for the Swede during the January transfer window.

Trotters manager Sam Allardyce is keen to strengthen his defensive hand and the 32-year old Swedish international is reportedly seen as an ideal candidate to improve the clubs defensive options.

Former AIK Stockholm defender Mjallby has been at Parkhead since 1998 but has found opportunities hard to come by for the Bhoys this season due to the form of Jackie McNamara and former Wanderers trialist Stanislav Varga. The player is apparently aware of Bolton's interest as is his club and he could be set to move to the Premiership having still not been offered an extension to his contract which will run out during the summer.
