Campo Given X-Ray All Clear

Medical tests have shown that Bolton midfielder Ivan Campo did not fracture his cheekbone during the win over Crystal Palace.

Campo collided with team mate Gary Speed in the early stages of Saturday's game and was kept in hospital overnight as the club waited anxiously to see if any damage had been done.

The ex-Real Madrid player is expected to be missing for a fortnight but could play on with the aid of a protective mask similarly used by the likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Paul Gascoigne and Trevor Sinclair in recent years.

Vice captain Speed escaped with just a cut to the head but needed regular treatment during the game to stop the bleeding.
