Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce was pleased to avoid tournament favourites Arsenal in the Semi Final draw of the Carling Cup but was under no illusions as to the threat of which opponents Aston Villa will pose to the Wanderers.

"Im pleased that we managed to avoid Arsenal at this stage in the competition but Aston Villa will prove to be tough oppenents. Whoever you come up against at this stage will always be tough. It certainly will be an exciting cup tie over two legs" Allardyce said.

It will be the first time the Wanderers have met the Midlands side in a cup competition since their FA Cup Semi Final tie in 2000 when the Trotters where defeated on penalties at Wembley Stadium and Allardyce hopes Wanderers can
get their revenge.

"We played them at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi Final and lost out to them on penalties, hopefully we can get our revenge" he said
