Bolton Wanderers are awaiting the results of an x-ray to see if Nicky Hunt has fractured anything following a sickening tackle from Oldham Athletic winger Lee Croft during the FA Cup tie between the two teams.

Croft hacked down his England U21 team mate Hunt in the 52nd minute of Bolton's 1-0 win at Boundary Park and the young full back was immediately stretchered off and taken to a nearby hospital for checks.

Hunt has been Bolton's regular right back throughout the course of this season and any potential injury will come as a huge blow to the Trotters manager Sam Allardyce who sees the young defender as a key part of his plans.

The Oldham midfielder Croft, on loan from Manchester City, was not even booked by referee Matt Messias following the incident which left Allardyce absolutely fuming.
