Former England striker Les Ferdinand is being touted for a move to Bolton Wanderers as Sam Allardyce continues a desperate search for new faces in time for the new season.

The 37-year old front man has just had an excellent season with Leicester City where he managed to rediscover his goalscoring touch by netting 12 Premiership goals in a struggling Foxes team which eventually was relegated from the    top flight.

Millwall have been linked with a move for the veteran front man as have former club Queens Park Rangers but reports this morning claim that the bustling attacker is set to snub those offers to continue his career in the top flight.

The report claims that talks have taken place between the player and Bolton with a 12-month contract said to be waiting should the experienced hit man be tempted for a return to the North where he had such a productive spell with Newcastle United in the mid-1990's.
