Bolton to decide on Blackburn match

With Fabrice Muamba amazing doctors with the speed of his recovery after he suffered a cardiac arrest at Tottenham on Saturday, it does seem increasingly likely that the game will go ahead.

However, manager Owen Coyle only returned to training with his team this morning and wanted to gauge the Bolton player's feelings before reaching a final decision.

Bolton will then inform the Premier League of their intentions.

The Premier League have told Bolton there is flexibility in the fixture calendar, even though there is already the FA Cup tie with Tottenham to re-arrange, plus a league encounter with Aston Villa, which was postponed last night.

Going ahead with the Blackburn game would be a brave call as Coyle knows that his side cannot afford to have their focus distracted given their perilous position in the table.

Blackburn moved six points clear of the drop zone last night to give themselves some breathing space.

Bolton remain deep in trouble, although there is an argument for believing the uplift in mood due to Muamba's likely recovery could inspire Coyle's players.
