Bolton To Decide Fadiga Future

Khalilou Fadiga will have his Bolton Wanderers future sorted out by next week - that is the view of his manager Sam Allardyce, the man who took a gamble on him when recruiting him from Inter Milan in September.

The Senegalese international collapsed prior to Bolton's game with Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup six weeks ago and has since had a further operation on a heart condition which has troubled him for over a year.

Various specialists and doctors fear that the player could put his life at risk if he continues to play on, even though he has now had an automatic defibrilator fitted to help regulate his heart and stem any further problems.

Fadiga has only played for Wanderers once, that came as a second half substititute during the game with Crystal Palace back in October. Prior to that he failed to make an appearance for his last club Inter because of his recent health scare.

"Fadiga is recovering and everyone is hoping he is going to come through. We will make a decision for everyone next week. Hopefully that will be a positive one."
