Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he will be appealing against the red card which goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen received during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

Jaaskelainen was sent off by referee Peter Walton after bringing down Boro striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but Allardyce was adament that the last man was in fact Wanderers defender Ricardo Gardner hence the reason for an appeal.

A decision is expected to be made by Wednesday to find out wether or not the Finn will miss the game with Aston Villa this weekend.
