Bolton Suffer Thome Injury Blow

Bolton Wanderers have been rocked by the news that defender Emerson Thome will be sidelined for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in the midweek Carling Cup clash with Gillingham.

The Brazilian centre half was replaced by young defender Charlie Comyn-Platt during the win over the Gills and the scans on the extent of the injury have revealed that the former Sheffield Wednesday man could be missing for the next couple of Premiership matches.

It leaves Wanderers short on the ground in numbers for the central defensive positions. Simon Charlton has already been asked to switch from the left back role into a more central role to accomodate the loss of Florent Laville but it is expected that either Anthony Barness or Nicky Hunt will be recalled at Right-Back with Bruno N'Gotty switching to the centre to partner Charlton.

Meanwhile Ivan Campo is a doubt for Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur. The Spaniard picked up an achilles injury in the midweek Carling Cup clash and having missed training is doubtful for the trip to White Hart Lane to face the managerless Spurs. Youri Djorkaeff looks once again set to be ruled out due to a calf injury which has seen him miss the last month.
