Bolton Step Up Move For Bridges

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is said to be ready to make a move for Leeds United striker Michael Bridges who is available on a Free Transfer following the Yorkshire club's relegation from the top flight.

The 26-year old striker has suffered a catalogue of injuries in his time at Elland Road following a big money move from Sunderland five years ago but Allardyce feels he could be the man to get the Geordie striker's career back on track in a similar way to Kevin Davies who has been a star performer for Wanderers this season after bouncing back from a disappointing spell with Southampton to collect numerous awards for Player of the Season.

Bridges could be set to join Bolton on a trial basis over the summer months to assess his fitness in the pre-season games but as yet we await confirmation from the club as to whether this will be the case. Either way Allardyce has a reputation for resurrecting players careers and Bolton seems to be the place for all the waifs and strays to come good again. Could Bridges be the next in line?
