Bolton Recall Loan Ranger Barness

Bolton Wanderers have recalled defender Anthony Barness from his loan spell with West Ham United after just one day with the Upton Park club. The 30-year old former Charlton Athletic player is now expected to line up for Wanderers against Portsmouth tommorow.

Barness joined the Hammers yesterday morning on a month's loan but Sam Allardyce has had to recall the player back to the Reebok Stadium having failed to recruit a defender on loan.

The Lewisham-born player and boyhood West Ham fan will be particularly disappointed to miss out on playing for the club he followed as a youngster but his recall gives him a chance to force his way back into Bolton's first team plans.

On his frustrated transfer search Allardyce told the clubs official site this morning.

"I have tried all week to bring in a player. Unfortunately I have not been able to do that and we will have to go with the fit players we have for Saturday's game against Portsmouth" he said

Allardyce is expected to name 19-year old Academy graduate Danny Livesey in the squad for the game against Pompey as a covering measure.
