Bolton Play Down Jussi Talk

Sam Allardyce has hit back at a report in today's Guardian newspaper which claims that both Manchester United and Arsenal have made an approach for goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Reports earlier in the day claimed that the top Premiership pair wanted to add the Finnish international to their squad but this has been quashed by the Wanderers manager Allardyce as complete rubbish.

"I can categorically state that we have not had an approach from any Club for Jussi Jaaskelainen. The story is complete rubbish.

"This story has kept recycling itself over the past few months and because we are playing Manchester United on Boxing Day the papers have decided to speculate."

The Wanderers chief has also ruled out a move for Youri Djorkaeff, the former Bolton favourite, who was released by rivals Blackburn Rovers yesterday.
