Bolton Wanderers are one of a number of British clubs to be linked with a summer move for Marseille midfielder Salomon Olembe who is currently on loan to Premiership strugglers Leeds United.

Olembe joined Leeds last summer whilst former Wanderers favourite Peter Reid was in charge and has impressed those at Elland Road when he has been given an opportunity in the first team however it is said that the financial state of the Yorkshire club will mean that the loan agreement for the Cameroonian will not be extended beyond this summer meaning that a whole host of clubs will be looking to recruit the player after he expressed a desire to stay in the United Kingdom.

French based British agent Willie McKay, who has been responsible for setting up a number of deals for Wanderers in the past confirmed that the Trotters along with Charlton Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Celtic had been contacted

"I have been in contact with a number of clubs about Olembe" McKay told SKY Sports

"His loan deal expires at the end of the season and he will be available for 3 million (euros) from Marseille. Charlton, Blackburn, Bolton and Celtic have all been watching him. He is very keen to stay in England although it has been very difficult for him at Leeds"

"He is just hoping to get the opportunity to try and help Leeds stay in the Premiership. There is interest in him and I know Peter Reid rates him very highly".

Despite the scouting of the 22-year old player it remains to be seen whether Wanderers will be able to afford the asking price of Olembe after outlining on a number of occasions the tight financial budget which the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has to work under. It is not the first time the player has been linked to the Reebok Stadium, prior to his move to Leeds he was being touted for a move to Bolton last August.

At the moment there is a lot of speculation around regarding possible summer transfers but Bolton's priority at the moment remains securing those still at the club on longer contracts beyond the summer.
