Leeds United striker Michael Bridges is said to be a summer target for Bolton Wanderers who are looking to the former Sunderland man to improve their strike force according to one Sunday tabloid.

The injury prone forward is currently on loan with hometown club Newcastle United but chances with the Toon Army have been few and far between since moving from Elland Road at the end of the January with Alan Shearer, Craig Bellamy and Shola Ameobi ahead of him in the Magpies squad.

Bridges 25, was rated as one of the hottest young prospects outside the Premiership a few seasons ago switching to Leeds from Sunderland for a staggering £5 million. However a series of long term injuries have hampered the former England U21 striker's progress and Leeds are said to be willing to take a loss on the player whether relegation is an issue or not.

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has started to make plans for next seasons campaign and is said to be drawing up a list of targets both at home and on the continent as he looks to bring in eight new faces for next term.
