St Vincent internationals Shandel Samuel and Jamal Ballantyre have impressed Bolton manager Sam Allardyce enough to be invited on the clubs tour of Portugal this week.

The pair have been trialling with the Trotters for the past seven days and could be offered contracts if they continue to perform to a high standard. Samuel scored during Saturdays 3-1 win against Radcliffe Boro and his impressive form for his country during the World Cup qualifiers is catching the eye of scouts across Europe.

Meanwhile former Southampton and Wolves midfielder Hassan Kachloul is going to Portugal with the Wanderers squad. The Moroccan is without a club having left Aston Villa at the end of the last season.

Kachloul is one of four trialists whom the club will take an extensive look at over the next week - the other three are the Israelian international defender Tal Ben Haim, former Lens midfielder Cyril Rool and ex-Middlesbrough man Emerson whom Allardyce has decided to retain after a change of heart.

One player who the Bolton boss has decided to release is Jordi Cruyff. The former Dutch international has been training with the club for over a month but Allardyce decided that the former Manchester United man was not what he wanted.
