Bolton Deal Not Dead - Rivaldo

In the latest twist and turn in the Rivaldo saga the Brazilian international has said that there is a strong possibility he will move to Bolton Wanderers for next season but only if the club match his financial demands.

The 32-year old has been considering a move to the Reebok Stadium for the last fortnight but now other clubs have shown an interest in his services meaning that the proposed shock transfer to bring the former World Player of the Year to Lancashire seems less clear cut.

"There is a chance (of playing for Bolton), as long as the club offer more money and match what I'm asking," Rivaldo told Agencia Estado.

"The club is good, the stadium is very nice and my challenge would be to take the club into Europe. If I reach an agreement with Bolton I will live in Manchester." he added

However despite reports to the contrary the ex-AC Milan star has said there was no fax sent to Bolton which gave an indication of his future plans despite claims otherwise made by Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside and Assistant Manager Phil Brown who both claimed to have seen the document in question.

"It is a lie. If they have the fax, they should show it to the press. The fax does not exist."

Celtic have also shown a strong interest in the player as have the Greek club Olympiakos whilst Rivaldo also claims clubs in Japan and Qatar have contacted him over the possibility of one last pay day. Either way no one knows what he is going to do other than the man himself, he knows in his own mind where he wants to be and i'm sure only time will tell as to where he will end up playing his football.

Meanwhile Celtic have turned their attentions to another Brazilian front man. Former Borussia Dortmund striker Marcio Amoroso, a one time target of Bolton, is expected in Glasgow to begin talks over a possible move to Parkhead following his release by the German club last month.
