Bolton Could Turn To Yorke

Bolton Wanderers are set to turn their attentions to Trinidad & Tobago international Dwight Yorke if they fail to land the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Henri Camara.

Former Manchester United goalgetter Yorke has been handed a Free Transfer by Blackburn Rovers after a series of bust ups with Rovers manager Graeme Souness regarding his private life and this has alerted Wanderers who are interested in keeping the player in the North West.

Trotters boss Sam Allardyce admitted having an interest in Yorke only last week but other managers are waiting to pounce including Peter Reid at Coventry City who sees the ex-Aston Villa forward as an ideal player to recruit for the new campaign.

Any move for Yorke would depend on whether or not Wolves are willing to budge over their valuation of Camara, so far two Bolton bids have been rejected for the player with Big Sam willing to go no higher than the last bid of £2.7 million which was offered last week.

"If a goalscorer turns up, then you would never turn him down, As far as Camara is concerned, we will wait until I find somebody else, or Wolves accept our bid or sell him to somebody else, or he decides he's going to stay with them." he told the Bolton Evening News

Despite a crisis meeting with Wolves this week Camara has pleaded with Molineux bosses to allow him to leave stating that he needs to play at the top level to fulfill his ambitions of becoming African Player of the Year.

"I plead with Sir Jack Hayward, Dave Jones and Jez Moxey to allow me to leave. If Wolves were still playing in the Premier League I would be happy to stay. I want people to know my situation. It is nothing against Wolves.

"I love the club and the fans. It is just I need to be playing in a top league for recognition from the international selectors and to fulfil my ambition of becoming African Player of the Year. I cannot do this if I am playing in the English First Division."
