Wanderers players have been in shock since Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie with Tottenham two weeks ago but recovered last week to claim three valuable points against Blackburn.
Coyle said that while Muamba remained at the forefront of his players' concerns the club would continue to focus on footballing matters, starting with this week's crucial six-pointer against Wolves at Molineux.
"The players have always been an honest and conscientious group in the way they have conducted themselves in difficult circumstances," Coyle said.
"I think they've been a credit to themselves and to the club. It's important that we continue in that vein on a football front and that's what we look to do.
"We had to get back to that after the dramatic events of what happened and they did that and they continue to knuckle down.
"That doesn't take away from the fact that we're all thinking about Fabrice and his recovery, which is going well, but we have to give Fabrice and the family that bit of time and space to recover as we go along that journey, knowing that doing that we're all thinking and praying for him."
Bolton, who lost Tuesday's replayed FA Cup quarter-final at Tottenham, head into this weekend's clash looking for a third consecutive league victory while bottom club Wolves are on a run of four defeats.
"The positivity that we need to continue in the remaining games in the Premier League, that's what's left now to focus on, after going out of the quarter-final of the FA Cup to Tottenham the other night," he said.
"It's back to league business and the opportunities are there for us to win our points."
