Israel are currently in Ljubljana preparing for Tuesday's friendly with Slovenia in Celje.
Team spokesperson Shaul Aizenberg issued a statement, saying: "Israel national team coach Dror Kashtan decided to send Ben Haim back to England after the Bolton defender refused to take part in Saturday's training session despite the fact that the team doctor declared he was fit."
Meanwhile, Bolton boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly considering a bid for Preston North End striker David Nugent.
