West Ham's new signing Yossi Benayoun has hit back at Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce after the Bolton manager voiced his disappointment in Benayoun last week.

The Israeli midfielder has hit back at Allardyce's claims and revealed he did not join Bolton because he is not a fan of their tactics.

"Allardyce is talking nonsense. If my decision had been based on money, I'd have joined Bolton as I was offered bigger bonuses there," said Benayoun.

"It's true Bolton are in the Uefa Cup, but that's not everything.

"I didn't go to West Ham for the money - I went because they play good football and I know I can do well here.

"Bolton don't play the sort of football I like. I know about West Ham's style and how they like to pass.

"Newcastle also offered me a deal. But I love the fact West Ham are already counting on me as an important player."
