Barber Loses Dual Coaching Role

Respected coach Fred Barber will be able to spend more time coaching the goalkeepers at Bolton Wanderers after it was confirmed that he had left his post at fellow Premiership side West Bromwich Albion.

Barber had been coaching at both clubs for a number of years but his time on matchday was spent firmly at the Reebok Stadium hence the reason why the new Albion manager Bryan Robson has aquired the services of the former Manchester City and England custodian Joe Corrigan as a replacement.

"I would like to thank Fred for his services to the club." Robson told Albion's official site

"I feel it is important the club's goalkeeping coach travels with us on a matchday, which is something Fred could not do due to his commitments at Bolton, and that's why we've brought Joe in."

Fred will continue in his role at Bolton as he looks to bring the best out of Jussi Jaaskelainen, Andy Oakes and Kevin Poole, as well as to aid the development of the club's younger keepers such as Sam Ashton and Chris Howarth.
