Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has promised to step up his search for new players during the January transfer window.

The Wanderers boss is without the services of Kevin Davies, Julio Cesar and Khalilou Fadiga for the next couple of weeks and is keen to bring in new faces as soon as possible.

One concern for Allardyce is the fact that new players will need to become integrated into the Bolton team fairly quickly if they are to make the desired impact.

"With the injury to Kevin Davies we are ready to make moves in the market. I need to assess who might do a job for us for the rest of the season.

"We would like one or two players who can come in and lift the place. Sadly, it is about changing our fortunes rather than taking us onwards and upwards. We have got ourselves in this predicament and we have to take the responsibility of getting ourselves out of it." he told the official site
