Allardyce Rules Out Ellington Move

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has ruled out a move for Wigan Athletic striker Nathan Ellington when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The 23-year old goalgetter had been linked with a £3 million move to the Reebok Stadium with some reports suggesting that the former Bristol Rovers player had been scouted in recent weeks. However this has been played down by Allardyce who states that the rumours are without foundation

"It is paper speculation, and in any case we don't have £3million." the Bolton boss said

Bradford-born Ellington scored eighteen goals for the Latics last season as they just missed out on a place in the Division One Play Offs with eight goals so far this campaign in the Championship which has seen Wigan amongst the early season pace setters.
