Allardyce Hopes For Davies Deal

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce believes that Kevin Davies should shun any lucrative contract offers that may come his way and remain at the Reebok Stadium.

Davies will be allowed to talk to other clubs soon if a new deal cannot be agreed hence the reason why Bolton are keen to sort out the future of the striker as soon as possible.

Allardyce is of the opinion that the 27-year old recruit from Southampton is at the best club possible for his talents and feels a move elsewhere may not be a good thing for the former England U21 player.

"Other clubs could improve Kevin's wages - but none could improve him as a player the way we have. There is nowhere better for him to go. I'd be sorry if he decided money was all he is interested in."

"We are still operating on a tight budget but another move now would not enhance his career - it would detract from it."

Tommorows opponents Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be one of the clubs monitoring the Davies situation.
