Allardyce Fears Nolan Interest

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is wary that the form of midfielder Kevin Nolan could attract unwanted attention from the bigger clubs.

The 21-year old scored the winner for Bolton during Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Charlton Athletic and Allardyce says he would be concerned if some of the richer teams in the league showed an interest in the England U21 midfielder.

"He's scored nine goals for us this year and it's a concern for us when the big boys come along and see him" Allardyce said.

Allardyce is keen to safeguard Wanderers from the same fate which has affected the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic who have both lost prized assets such as Damien Duff and Scott Parker to Chelsea after nurturing them through the Youth programme so the Bolton boss will be very keen to keep hold of Nolan.
