Allardyce Calls For Common Sense

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has pleaded with Portuguese official Pedro Henriques not to report Michael Bridges to the authorities after his sending off for violent conduct during last night's win over Sporting Lisbon.

New signing Bridges was dismissed shortly before the hour mark for violent conduct and could face a three match ban going into the new season if Henriques decides to report the spat with defender Parai.

Allardyce beleives common sense should prevail over the incident but all the same has asked for the referee to take into account the "friendly" nature of the contest which despite the incident was played in good fashion with only Bolton trialist Cyril Rool the other name in the notebook.

"If the referee decides to report the incident Michael could face a suspension - if hope common sense prevails" Allardyce remarked.
