40 Not Out For Promotion Duo

Two members of the Bolton Wanderers squad to break all records during their Division 1 Championship winning team of 1997 come of age this week as both John McGinlay and Chris Fairclough celebrate their 40th Birthdays.

McGinlay, who is 40 today, is undoubtedly a Bolton legend whos goals in the 1990's where a major factor in lifting the club to the levels where they are today making himself a cult hero in the process whilst former Player of the Year Fairclough, 40 on Easter Monday, was one half of the most successful defensive pairings of recent times as both he and Gerry Taggart where instrumental in the 1996-1997 season.

Time certainly does fly and in the seven years since those final days at Burnden Park the club has gone from strength to strength but we could not have got to where we are today without having secured the services of the likes of messers McGinlay and Fairclough.
