Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Last updated : 11 April 2004 By Mark Heys
Bolton Wanderers travel to the Black Country tommorow hoping to finally overtake the fourty points mark which would surely ensure their Premiership status for a fourth consecutive season but they know it won't be easy as they face a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who are battling hard against relegation.

The Trotters travel to Molineux without the services of experienced defender Simon Charlton who has been ruled out for up to three weeks with an ankle injury picked up in Saturday's draw with Aston Villa so Nicky Hunt is in line to replace the former Birmingham City player. Fellow defenders Florent Laville and Ricardo Gardner are still some way from a first team return following knee surgery whilst Youri Djorkaeff and Bruno N'Gotty showed no ill effects of recent injuries during the weekend and will once again be expected to play some part against the Wolves.

Wolves manager Dave Jones is expected to stick with the side that drew 3-3 with Manchester City at the weekend although there is a doubt over Northern Ireland U21 ace Mark Clyde who suffered a knee injury at the City of Manchester Stadium. Former Manchester United man Denis Irwin is waiting in the wings should the youngster Clyde fail to make the clash against the Trotters. Former Bolton striker Nathan Blake will miss the game against his former employers as Wolves are once again expected to play Carl Cort and Henri Camara up front.

Earlier on in the season Bolton denied the Wolves their first Premiership win thanks to a late leveller from Kevin Davies in a 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium and despite Dave Jones side losing four prior to the weekend games Bolton will know that there will be no room for error in the West Midlands tommorow.
