Southampton Preview

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is expected to make changes for tommorow's Carling Cup Quarter Final clash with Southampton at the Reebok Stadium.

Mario Jardel, Ibrahim Ba, Anthony Barness and Kevin Poole are expected to be called into action and there could also be possible places in the starting line up for Stelios Giannakopoulos and Henrik Pedersen who both came off the bench in Saturday's Premiership win over Chelsea. Former Saints duo Kevin Davies and Simon Charlton will be hoping to keep their places to face their former club.

Bolton will be hoping that they can continue their fine run in this season's competition which has seen them knock out the holders Liverpool in the last round of the competition earlier in the month. Southampton will also be keen to progress to another final having narrowly lost out to Arsenal in last season's FA Cup Final.

Saints might have to do without England striker James Beattie after the former Blackburn Rovers player picked up an ankle injury during the sides 2-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend. Defender Claus Lundekvamn is also a doubt for the trip to the North West as he has also got an ankle injury. Strike duo Agustin Delgado and Kevin Phillips will be vying to replace Beattie in a bid to partner Anfield hero Brett Ormerod up front.

Former Chelsea defender Graeme Le Saux is struggling with a hamstring problem so Gordon Strachan must decide whether or not to stick with Danny Higginbotham at left back or give a debut to former Oldham Athletic favourite Fitz Hall.
