Sheffield Wednesday Preview

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce will once again focus on the younger end of his team as the Trotters make the short trip across the Pennines to take on a strong Sheffield Wednesday team at Hillsborough.

Allardyce is saving all his big names for Sunday's home friendly with Inter Milan so the Bolton team which turns out at Hillsborough could look similar to the one which went down 1-0 to Chesterfield in midweek meaning further places for reserve regulars Danny Livesey, Charlie Comyn-Platt, Joey O'Brien, Bradley Hill and Bedi Buval.

First year scholar James Sinclair came on as a late substitute in the game against the Spirietes and could be pushing for a starting place this time around. The young Geordie striker has made great strides since his arrival at the club late last season having already made his debut in the reserve team clash against Manchester United in April.

Owls boss Chris Turner may hand a first start to experienced midfielder Chris Marsden after the former Southampton star completed a return to England following some time in Korea. Ex-Hartlepool defender Graeme Lee was injured in the recent friendly defeat against Birmingham City and may not be risked whilst former Bolton trialist Paul Heckingbottom could be made captain in the absence of Lee for the game. Former Scunthorpe striker Steven MacLean will be pushing for a starting place at the expense of Adam Proudlock or Lee Peacock.
